My brokenness taught me that prayer is not about bending God's will to suit our own desires or needs, but to seek His will and to align our own desires with His divine purpose. True prayer involves a deep, reflective dialogue with God, where we open ourselves to His guidance and wisdom. The greatest answer to all our prayers is found in the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus called us to learn obedience through His suffering. Many times Jesus prayed and asked God the Father, "Thy will be done." Thus, when we approach God in prayer, we should do so with the same heart and attitude as Jesus, earnestly seeking grace and discernment. It is essential to recognize that prayer is not a transactional exchange but a relational engagement that invites us into a deeper understanding of God's love and His purpose for our lives. In this sacred space of prayer, we are encouraged to lay down our burdens, fears, and hopes, trusting that God has laid His best plans for us. Moreover, through prayer, we cultivate a spirit of patience and resilience, allowing God to work within us and through us.
I have learned to surrender all my sufferings to Him. I continue to express all my heart's desires, but now I rely on His will because God understands my weaknesses. And when we have faith in Him, we gain the strength to let go of our desires and fears, and trust that His will is perfect, right, and just for us.
